Frequently asked questions
The Expedition
What is ATLNTX?
ATLNTX creates private self-drive expeditions across Portugal. Each journey combines exceptional driving roads, carefully selected properties, local access and complete freedom to travel at your own pace.
Who is ATLNTX for?
ATLNTX is designed for travellers who value independence, privacy, exceptional roads and access that cannot be booked through standard travel platforms. Every expedition is private. No groups. No schedules. No compromises.
Is ATLNTX a guided tour?
No. There are no groups, guides, flags or schedules. You travel independently using a curated route designed by ATLNTX.
What does a typical day look like?
You wake at your property, depart at your own pace and spend the day exploring roads, landscapes and places selected for the expedition. Lunch is flexible. Evenings are spent at carefully chosen restaurants or properties.
How much driving is involved?
Most routes are designed around quality rather than distance. Typical driving days range from 150 to 350 kilometres depending on the itinerary.
How many people can join?
Most expeditions are designed for two people. Additional guests may be accommodated subject to a price upgrade and depending on route and property selection.
Can I travel alone?
Absolutely. Many clients choose ATLNTX as a solo journey.
Can children join?
Yes. Please mention children during the enquiry process so we can recommend suitable properties and arrangements. Please note:
- Children under 3 years of age participate at no additional expedition charge
- Appropriate child restraint systems must be provided by the Client for children under 12
- Rooftop tent accommodation is not recommended for children under 12 — hotel alternatives are available on request
- All additional costs arising from minor participation — including supplementary accommodation, child menus or itinerary modifications — are at Client expense
Can pets join?
Pets may be accommodated subject to prior written approval and a non-refundable pet surcharge of €250. We will do our best to suggest pet-friendly properties based on your route and request. Availability and any additional accommodation costs are subject to confirmation.
